True Confessions of A Young Girl In Love

What if I said that I still loved you?
Would that make me less of a person?
And what if I said he means more to me than you ever did?
Would that make me seem inhuman?
What if I told you that you would always be a part of me?
The foundation of the very heart of me
Cause every new love starts with you
Would that make the love we have untrue?
What if I said I loved you but I love you no more?
But there is no forgetting you, of that I'm sure
It doesn't matter, what's in the past is in the past
Doesn't matter how you felt, doesn't matter that happiness didn't last
All that matters is that every time I feel this feeling
Deep down inside me, my heart is bleeding
I do forgive you for everything you've done
Because I've finally found the one
The one to take me to the finish line of it all
The one who picks me up when I stumble and fall
But there is no forgetting you I am sure of that somehow
And all the love we had, there is no wiping out that out
And every time I look at him I'll remember you
Only to think it was you I was to share these moments with
You were the one I dreamed to hold me
Yet he does it so effortlessly
I miss you sometimes
When I'm forced to think of my past
But there is no going back
I don't want to lose him to something that's not real
No need to fool myself into love that I don't feel
He is everything that I'll ever need
He is the reason our love must concede
Indeed
I'll always remember our Sundays
Our Saturday nights
Replaced by nights of crying
And silent fights
Maybe someday you won't be a part of me
But not today
And I didn't speak these words I won't be real
Tricking my heart until I can't breathe
I'm going to tell you honestly
I love you always; you helped me to be me
But now that I know who I am
And there are more things I seem to understand
We were never meant to be
Just lessons for us to learn
Sometimes some love was just meant to burn
And I'm ok and I hope you are too
And if we happen to see each other again
Hope you know I will always love you
