Lasting Love Poem ~
A New Life Begins

A lifetime of tears and waiting is coming to a end
as our new life together starts as the new year begins
the lonely nights and late night conversations
will come to a end with our new year celebrations
it seems a lifetime we have waited for our life to begin
and together forever we will remain until our end
the memories we have shared together in the past
will be added to the memories of a love that did last.
those that love us knew this day would come to before
nothing or no one can stop the love of you and me
we have stood together and fought through it all
and our future together will begin as we stand tall
united in life beside you i shall forever remain
a life we have fought to have without quilt or shame
i so look forward to our life we will build together
i love you maurice its you and i now and forever.
