Father's Day Love Poem ~ Dreams Of You Father

i heard these words over and over in my head
as i laid down at last to rest my tired sleepy head
walk in beauty walk in ribbons and lace
always my daughter walk within god\'s loving grace
how could you know i needed to hear those words so
i miss you so much daddy yet in my heart i know you had to go

it seems only yesterday we both talked of our dreams
you always told me life was one of gods lovely painted scenes
we are each of us put here to play a part
to forever show our love to all from the start
for god was loving in giving us his son
and our part in life is to love everyone

shut no man out offer him comfort and shelter from the storm
and offer him your love and food in the morn
for in helping the weak stand tall and proud
you are voicing your love of god and man out loud

forgive all of those who hurt and make you cry
for its never our job to ask our father why
each of us here is given a great task
and through love our world will forever last

for on his sons head a crown of thorns was placed
so walk with beauty walk in ribbons and lace
and always my daughter walk in gods loving grace
