Lost Love Poem ~ Tears From The Sky

laying in darkness i feel my heart begin to beat
i can never sleep instead i lay and i think
i think of the girl i knew the day before
what i would give to see her once more

oh if i only knew she would leave that night
my arms would have reached out and held her tight
oh if i only knew how to capture her heart
maybe we wouldnt have been torn apart

oh if i only knew that day was to be our last
i would have loved her more than all my past
and because i never had the chance to say goodbye
my world forever rains tears from the sky

i try and remember when a better time
but pain has erased them from my mind
i still feel her skin beneath my bitter hand
but looking down my hand belongs to another man

i can still hear her voice and smell her hair
but when i open my eyes she isnt there
i can still taste her lips and feel her touch
oh why did she go i miss her so much

i know as i struggle for each and every breath
my shattered heart waits for nothing but death
but as time passes i've somehow managed to stay
i awake ready to fight at least one more day

my strength from a dream one day she\'ll come home
and with her she\'ll bring back all ive ever known
she\'ll look in my eyes with her hands on my face
she\'d fix my heart and take me away from this place

and even if my dream is never meant to come true
i will never ever stop dreaming of me and you
oh how i long for my love to return
candles of hope will forever burn

but the pain is there for all to see
my worst nightmare is now my reality

oh how i wish i could have said goodbye
oh how i wish i could have kissed her goodbye
before she left me drowning in tears from the sky

please someone wake me from this nightmare
the horror of this place is far to much to bare

oh please tell me it isnt so
someone tell me my girl didnt go
