i fell in love once
a hot summer evening
a sport between friends
peering at the window sill
i dreamt of love once
lying in my bed
crying tears of joy
for what i thought i had
i wanted love once
wanted to hear it in your words
you weren't the same person i thought i knew
i was always me
this an absolute
but you didn\'t seem you
i begged for love once
wondering where you were
the man who loved me completely and thoughtlessly in my dreams
now gone
had he ever existed?
i questioned this
or was he the only thing that kept my heart content
