The Wedding Dance

White shoes reflect against wood stained floors
Dresses float like feathers above them
Hands grasp never to let go
All this assures me that I love him

With every step he guides and takes hold
Never to let me go
Never to let me fall
Hands extend
Hands draw in
One, two!
Slowly but surely as the ballad plays on

The whistle of the instruments
Say forever
Now they scream
FOREVER MY LOVE
I will continue to guide and grasp and take hold
And counteract to every swing in you step
And fulfill every promise I made

She hums now as the verse winds down
And slowly goes the earth beneath us
And we do not make a sound
And your hand explores the inner crevaces of my back
And I go down as if you lay me
On a stack of clouds

Down I go and I say goodbye
So that when I rise we start forever
Forever my love
I will continue to let you guide and grasp and take hold
And act to every winding road life takes us
And fulfill every promise you made

Now smile
As the cheers go on
